Last month I wrote about the amazing Ofsted reports we had received as a Trust this year. Every school or Academy is only ever as good as its staff and it was due to the hard work and determination of all that the Ofsted reports were as impressive as they were! Staff don’t really work for Ofsted approval, they work because they strive for the best for the children in their care. Over and over again at Archway I see staff demonstrating that commitment, going over and above to support our students and to help them to reach their full potential. It is no accident that the Trust mission statement talks about ‘the transformational power of education’. This is exactly what our staff exhibit day in and day out.
It was wonderful then, to be able to celebrate our staff stars with a glittering awards event in the middle of June. Teams from every Academy within the Trust attended the event hosted at Trent Vineyard Church. The Director of Children’s services Alison Michalska gave an inspiring speech about the City of Nottingham, the needs of the young people within the city and the importance of quality education for those children. It was a wonderful celebration of all our teams!
These last two months have been full of MAT celebrations: we had our first ever MAT Olympics held in June, a Trust STEM festival attended by over 500 children and parents a couple of weeks ago, and our Wollaton Park 10K event at the end of June. Staff and students who attend Archway Academies are encouraged not only to reach the highest academic standards but to develop their entire skillset. Next year we have plans for a fantastic student celebration to match that of the staff awards, as well as many more Arts events. It has been a great year for Archway and we look forward to September bringing a whole host of new opportunities and new students. I wish everyone who works within the trust a restful and happy summer.
