Celebrating Success on GCSE Results Day

As our students have been receiving their GCSE results, we’ve been celebrating successes across the trust. Here are just a few of the many incredible stories from our academies.

Bluecoat Aspley Academy

Principal, Mrs Anderson said, “It has been a privilege to celebrate GCSE results with our students and families today.  These results are well-deserved, and we are proud of them all. Each individual success reminds us that every student at Bluecoat Aspley can achieve their potential, no matter what their starting point or background. We are delighted that many of our Year 11s have chosen to stay at Bluecoat Aspley to study A levels, Applied Generals, T Level courses or study on our Level 2 pathway within the Sixth Form.  Enrolment is now open for external students too.”

Heritage Badmos

“Since Year Seven, the thought of doing my GCSEs made me incredibly nervous and unsure about my outcomes, as the exams seemed inevitable and daunting to me. But as the years went on, I became more assured in myself and eventually began to learn, retrieve, and memorise GCSE content. When I reached Year Eleven, the pressure was on to do well and achieve the grades that I needed. Doing my GCSEs was not at all how I thought it would be! Yes, it was tense and stressful having 24 exams stretched out over five weeks, but the encouragement that I got from my teachers and peers, as well as my own personal drive to excel, is what got me through those weeks and this is reflected in my results.”

Alastair Stevenson

“I’m on the Autistic Spectrum. That has hindered me in subjects requiring language. However, hard work and dedication, excellent support for my educational needs and support making friends have all helped me to achieve these amazing grades. I couldn’t have achieved this at any other school.”

Evan Carrison

“From the end of Year 10 to the end of Year 11, I’ve improved so much. This has been from my hard work and the hard work of my teachers.   The mocks and preparation made me feel comfortable going into exams. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have without teachers putting the dedication into the lessons that they did.”
