It was such a pleasure to be able to open our second Staff Awards Ceremony on 27th June. Over 300 staff from across the Trust came together to celebrate the development of the Trust and their part in making it great. The awards ranged from Inspirational Teacher of the Year to Team of the Year and it was inspiring to see the amazing work that has taken place this year and the truly awesome staff that have led this work. Geeta Pendse, BBC journalist and presenter gave an excellent key note address about the importance of education in her life and the impact that it had for her as a local Nottingham girl. Hardev Singh followed this up with his challenge to us to develop learners for the future and to encourage our students to be innovative and think in an entrepreneurial way.
It is critical that as a staff body we are able to come together and celebrate. Being involved in a school in whatever capacity is hard work. The constant striving to become better and encourage one another to be the best that we can be, so that our young people can go out into the world with the best possible start in life, is hard work. So stepping back for an evening, listening to the inspirational work that so many staff undertake day in day out is important and should never be belittled. I am acutely conscious that many acts of selfless work and kindness never get seen or recognised publicly so for all of these and the ones we did manage to celebrate, thank you. Archway staff, you really do make a difference and transform lives.
