Autumn 2 2019

This month over 30 leaders from across the Trust met together in central Nottingham and explored together some of the most important issues facing us in the education sector.  Ably facilitated by Toby Greany and Jane Creasy we explored themes to do with vision, strategic direction, identity and culture.  The opportunities of genuine curricular change under the new Ofsted framework were discussed by our Trust leaders.   Sir David Carter inspired us all with the concept of a ‘Trust Dividend’ and how we could communicate it effectively to our key stakeholders.

Our after dinner speaker this year was David Mellen, Leader of Nottingham City Council.  He reminded us of the importance of the work that we do and its impact on the lives of so many young people. The final session was led by Emma Knights, Chief Executive of the National Governors Association.  She challenged us on how we govern the Trust and our mechanisms for effective working between the Academy Advisory Boards and the Trust Board.

This was a wonderful opportunity to spend time working together, reviewing our progress since last year and building together for our future success so that we can better serve the young people in our care.
