The Secretary of State for Education, Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP, visits Archway Learning Trust, Thursday 22 March 2018.
It was a real honour to be selected to host a visit by the Secretary of State for Education, Rt. Honourable Damian Hinds MP. Our growing reputation as an inclusive and successful Trust that does not give up on students has brought us this wonderful opportunity to meet the Secretary of State.
Damian Hinds said during his visit, “Bluecoat Academy is clearly a great school with high ambitions for its students. I enjoyed meeting with sixth formers to hear about their plans for the future and the different paths, including apprenticeships and university courses, that they are set to take, as well learning about what the academy is doing to make sure pupils at risk of exclusion are given the tailored support that they need.”
“It is a mark of a successful school to see pupils so engaged and proud of their studies, which is testament to the hard work of the teachers and leaders at Bluecoat.”
In addition to Damian Hinds we were also delighted to host Sir David Carter, National School Commissioner to a roundtable conversation about teacher workload and teacher recruitment. He was accompanied by our Regional Schools Commissioner, John Edwards on his second visit to Archway Learning Trust.
CEO of Archway Learning Trust, Sian Hampton, commented ‘this has been an incredible day when we have been able to share our vision for inclusive transformational education with people that have real power to change it for the better.’
