Ian has over 30 years’ experience in the governance of Church schools and academies across both primary and secondary phases. He is Vice Chair of the Diocesan Board of Education and a member of the Southwell & Nottingham Educational Trust, bringing extensive knowledge of Church school distinctiveness and strategic oversight.
Most of Ian’s career was spent in higher education, primarily as an IT Director before moving into roles managing university‑owned companies. His wider community involvement includes serving as a trustee of Papplewick & Linby Village Hall, joining the Independent Monitoring Board for Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre, and previously chairing Papplewick Parish Council. A committed Christian, he has also held a range of roles within his local church.
A lifelong cricket enthusiast, Ian now serves as a panel umpire after more than 50 years of playing league cricket.
