Richard is the former Chief Executive Officer of The Two Counties Trust, a large multi‑academy trust of nine secondary schools across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. A maths teacher by background, he taught in several secondary schools before moving into senior leadership, bringing over 20 years’ experience of headship and executive headship.
He became a Local Leader of Education (LLE) in 2008, supporting leadership development across the region, and played a key role in forming and scaling The Two Counties Trust from three to nine schools. Richard has also contributed extensively to professional development programmes, most recently facilitating the NPQH for a local consortium.
As a member of the Trust Board, the Curriculum & Standards Committee, and Trustee Link for Safeguarding, Richard brings deep expertise in school improvement, curriculum leadership and safeguarding oversight. His extensive leadership experience strengthens the Trust’s strategic direction and supports high‑quality, safe provision for all pupils.
