Archway Learning Trust’s CEO invited to discuss gender equality in podcast

Roundtable: Closing gender gaps in the workplace

So, why do women earn almost 15 per cent less than men? Three respected women leaders at the tops of their chosen professions try to answer that question in Episode 24 of Nottingham Business School’s Business Leaders’ Podcast. Guests Sian Hampton, CEO of the Archway Learning Trust, Natalie Fahy, Reach PLC’s Regional Audience and Content Director and Melanie Currie, Deputy Dean of Nottingham Business School, talk candidly about their own experiences as women in the workplace. They also outline what needs to change.

While education has traditionally been thought of as somewhere that women have flourished, particularly in primary education, the data around secondary education and multi-academy trust leadership shows a different picture. At Archway Learning Trust, our Executive Leadership Team has 4 women and 4 men*, and more female leaders in secondary education than male leaders. Sian suggests this is due to “recognising talent” and that in the education sector there is a lot of talented women!
